The parts and interior materials industry is working hard to solve the pollution problem in cars. At the spare parts branch of China association of automobile industry held on November 8, 2015, the work of in-car air quality has been included in the work report of 2015 annual parts meeting. At the same time, the technical policy for the control of volatile organic pollutants in vehicles was listed as one of the key tasks of the ministry of industry and information technology in 2015. In 2015, the industry conference on automobile lightweight, automotive interior decoration materials, automotive plastics and automotive adhesives was held to discuss the air quality problem in the car as the main problem. It has become an industry consensus to improve the air quality of automobile interior decoration materials starting from the control of harmful substances.

 

The foaming method and application of polymer materials are introduced by our company. Specifically, it is preparation and application of polyurethane foam containing low volatile organic compounds and involves the synthesis of low VOC at the same time.

 

Existing technology in the foaming agent, catalyst, silicone surfactants (commonly known as silicone oil) and the presence of other additives, through organic isocyanates react with compounds containing active hydrogen producing polyurethane foam to produce polyurethane foam. A compound containing active hydrogen includes polyether polyols, polymer polyols, polyamines, and water. In the preparation of polyurethane foam, the catalyst promotes two main reactions, gel and foaming. These reactions occur simultaneously in the process and are in a competitive equilibrium, producing polyurethane foam with the required physical properties.

 

The new low VOC material introduced by our company needs to overcome the shortcomings of existing technology, provides a significant reduction in foam organic volatiles content, high resilient molded foam with good stability and excellent physical properties of polyurethane foam methods and applications, especially polyurethane material suitable for automotive interior decoration and indoor.

 

Preparation of polyurethane foam with low volatile organic compounds content: The raw materials are reprocessed polyether polyols, polymer polyols with low volatile content, foaming agent, low odor catalyst, cross-linking agent, low atomizing silicon oil and low volatile content isocyanate.
